🚨 IT’S OFFICIAL! WE’RE GOING TO TENNESSEE! 🚨⚾️
Last night, our trip to Murfreesboro, Tennessee was officially approved! First I want to thank Dr. Korus, AD Drew Benedict, and Principal Kathryn Longenbaugh, and our school board for supporting our vision for this trip.
From March 29–April 3, 2027(exact dates will depend on our schedule), Whitko Baseball will travel south to compete in the Mid-South Classic. This is about so much more than simply playing baseball.
This is an opportunity to take our program outside of our normal environment, compete against teams we may not otherwise get the chance to see, experience a different level of baseball, and spend meaningful time together creating memories that will last a lifetime.
For our players, this means:
More competition
More development
More experiences
More opportunities to learn
More opportunities to grow together
But most importantly, it gives our players an opportunity to see what Whitko Baseball can become.
We talk constantly about Building the Standard.
Building the Standard means creating opportunities for our players that challenge them and expand their vision.
It means putting our athletes in environments where they have to compete, adapt, handle adversity, support one another, and represent Whitko Baseball the right way.
It means building something that our current players can be proud of and that future Wildcats will want to be part of.
EVERY WILDCAT BASEBALL PLAYER WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO.
One of our priorities is making sure every player in our program has the opportunity to experience this trip, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
We don't want a player's ability to participate to be determined by what their family can or cannot afford.
That's why individual fundraising opportunities will be available for players and families who want to raise money toward their trip expenses.
There will also be opportunities for our community to support the program as a whole.
NOW THE WORK BEGINS.
A trip like this takes an entire community.
There is a lot to accomplish between now and March, and we're going to need our players, families, alumni, community members, businesses, and Wildcat supporters to join us.
This is our opportunity to come together and do something special for these kids.
We aren't just trying to take a baseball team to Tennessee.
We're trying to build a program.
A program that creates opportunities.
A program that develops players.
A program that builds relationships.
A program that our community can be proud of.
A program that leaves something behind for the Wildcats who come next.
We have the approval.
We have the vision.
We have the opportunity.
Now it's time to get to work.
If you want to be part of making this trip happen, we want you with us.
Let's build it together.
Whitko Baseball is going to Tennessee. Let's make it something our players will never forget. Go Cats!
