Reminder, tomorrow is the city council meeting that will decide if our club gets to keep providing train rides or if we have to vacate.

Anybody who can join, or would like to join is encouraged to!

Urgent: Help Needed to Save Our Train Club!

The South Weber Parks Department is recommending the City Council shut us down and evict us from Canyon Meadows Park.

The Council will vote on our future at their meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. (1600 E South Weber Drive).

They have also required us to cancel our upcoming run day and recommended we stop all maintenance until this is resolved.

We provide free family fun and create lasting memories for kids and families in our community and we don’t want this to end.
How you can help:
-Come in person on April 28 at 6:00 p.m. and speak during public comment

Huge thank you to ABC 4 for sharing our story!

The South Weber Model Railroad Club (SWMRRC) has been offering free train rides at Canyon Meadows Park in South Weber for more than a decade. However, the city council may soon decide to terminate the agreement that allows the club to have a track at the park and have paused the rides until a decision is reached.

Due to the arrival of Union Pacific's big boy 4014 steam locomotive in Ogden on April 18th, we have decided to reschedule our planned run day for the following week.

On the rails tomorrow one of our members will be bringing out his new-to-him goose!
The only problem… it doesn’t officially have a name yet. Around the railroad it’s already picked up a couple nicknames like “Lil’ Honk” and “Silly Goose.” He's still deciding what sticks, so drop your vote below, or give him more name ideas!

Setup for the Fright Train has been delayed as we've been fixing some vandalism that occured. Unfortunately another switch on our mainline was lifted, as well as a switch leading out of our shed. In all of our years operating, we've been fortunate that vandalism has never been an issue. However, this year, we've now experienced this type of vandalism 3 times. Each time delaying or stopping our events. Safety is our #1 priority. So if you arrive and we don't have all of the normal decorations, we will at the very least have a safe track to drive on.

Tomorrow is our fright train! Candy bags are ready, weathers looking nice, and the trains are all set! We cant wait to see everybody at the park!
