🚨Land Development Alert – Speak Up for South Weber! 🚨
We are thrilled to see single-family homes planned for this area—it’s great to welcome new families to South Weber! 🏡 However, the level of density being proposed brings both pros and cons that deserve careful consideration.
A new rezoning proposal would convert 37 acres of farmland near the DR Horton neighborhood into a mix of residential zones. While the city’s General Plan calls for mostly Low-Density Residential, the application requests higher-density zoning that could permanently impact our roads, open space, and small-town character.
What’s proposed:
• 15 acres → Low-Density Residential (R-L) – 1.45 units per acre
• 10 acres → Moderate-Density Residential (R-M) – 1.85 units per acre
• 12 acres → Residential Patio Homes (R-P) – 4 units per acre
📍 The majority of this area should remain Low-Density, consistent with surrounding neighborhoods and the city’s General Plan.
⚠️ Key concerns:
• New roads will connect into quiet DR Horton streets.
• More density adds congestion and reduces open space.
• Changes the small-town character residents value and previously supported.
We support welcoming new neighbors and single-family development, but we also believe it’s important to strike the right balance of density to keep South Weber safe, livable, and true to its vision.

👉 Your voice matters! Join us to urge the commission to keep the majority of this land zoned at the Lowest Density in line with the city’s General Plan.
