Milo here…

My foster mom said I should let you all know I’ve been working really hard on my doggie manners and house training and she says I’m doing great!

I also showed her what a good boy I am on leash and how much I like going for walks. And I don’t really mind staying in the crate when she’s gone because I get really yummy Kong treats to keep me busy. 🥰 She keeps telling me what a good boy I am and gives me lots of cuddles and belly rubs.

Oh and I wanted to share some updated pictures so you can see how much better I am looking!

Milo Update - this is long but he’s been a very busy little guy! 🥰

We know a picture is worth a thousand words! And as you can see Milo’s transformation in just 10 days is beyond amazing!🤩

From a life of extreme neglect, tied up in a basement sitting in his own f***s and urine, to total freedom! This adorable little guy is loving life and looks forward to finding his forever home where he can live his best life!🐾🏡🙏🏼❤️

We’ve learned Milo’s birthdate is 9/6/2024 so he’s actually under 2 years old. He’s between 10-11 lbs currently and still needs to put on a little weight. He has a great appetite so that’s not going to be a problem.

A BIG thanks to Cassie Katz for getting Milo in for grooming on very short notice! We are grateful he did not need to be sedated and shaved. Milo’s foster mom got the process started by slowly working to cut out the extreme matting covering his body and Cassie was able to give him the spa day he so needed and deserved. ✂️🫧🛁

Milo is now up to date on vaccines and HW/flea/tick prevention. All of his bloodwork came back normal. And he’s scheduled for his neuter on Thursday so he will be ready for adoption very soon!

Milo is an absolute sweetheart! It’s remarkable after all he’s been through, mistreated by humans and attacked by dogs, that he has built trust so quickly and is feeling safe. He loves the other dogs in his foster home and has bonded quickly with foster mom. He is not a lap dog (yet…) but will lay next to you and LOVES belly rubs.

Things to know about Milo if you are interested in adopting him:
🐾 He is not house-trained but we are working on it! It’s more a marking behavior that can be managed with a belly band when he’s inside until we can get the behavior corrected. This will require time and patience.
🐾 We have fondly nicknamed him “Mr. Happy Humper” which is self explanatory 😜 but we are hopeful his neuter will help with this behavior as well as the marking. Note…he does not try to hump humans. 😅
🐾 As you can see from the video he loves to play so lots of toys and another playful dog who will continue to help Milo learn his doggy manners would be best.
🐾 He has a lot of energy so he will need regular exercise and a securely fenced yard (required, no electric fences) where he can safely run and play.
🐾 Milo has been around cats and children and has been okay. We recommend children over the age of 8.
🐾 He will need regular brushing and professional grooming a minimum of every 8 weeks to prevent matting.

Meet Milo our little Miracle 💙

Milo is a tiny Havapoo, estimated to be around 2 to 2½ years old,
weighing just 11 pounds—and every ounce of him tells a story of survival. This little guy needs to gain some weight. He is definitely underweight.

After the passing of a family member who once cared for him, Milo ended up in a situation where he was sadly neglected. For far too long, he was kept tied up in a basement, without the love, care, and attention every dog deserves.

A kind woman stepped in to try to help, but heartbreak struck again when Milo was attacked by two neighboring dogs, leaving him injured and in very rough condition.

Today, Milo is safe with Dogs Unlimited Rescue, but he has a long road ahead. He is severely matted, suffering from painful eye, ear and foot infections, and healing from injuries to his neck. Milo still needs to be neutered, and vaccinated. His matting is so bad he may have to be sedated to get him cleaned up so it’s not too painful.

And yet—despite everything he has been through—Milo is as sweet as can be. He gently leans into love, though his little body still trembles from fear and pain. He has shown that he is good with cats and children, and prior to the attack he did well with other dogs. Given what he has endured, we will take things slowly and continue to learn what makes him feel safe again.

A huge thank you to Taya Belle for getting Milo to the vet and safely transporting him to his foster home. A heartfelt thank you to Mary Lou Bender who opened her heart and home to this sweet boy. As a retired nurse and devoted dog mom, Milo could not be in more loving or capable hands.

Milo’s journey is just beginning—but we truly believe he is nothing short of a miracle. ✨

Stay tuned as we help this brave little soul heal, one day at a time.

We love getting updates from our adopters! 🙏🏼 and we wanted to share an update on our little rock star Bowie! 💙

Bowie came into our rescue in June 2025 from a local shelter. He was found as a stray in such horrible condition (from extreme neglect) that he was scheduled for euthanasia. Well this little guy keeps proving he has so much more life to live and he’s doing just that!

While we were all suffering through the extreme cold this winter, Bowie was relaxing in sunny, warm Arizona with his family. 😎 We hear he’s a great little traveler! 🧳 His overall health is good and his dry eye and glaucoma are well-managed with the prescribed eye drops.

His family tells us he’s the happiest, sweetest little guy and is so adaptable. He just goes with the flow! They are so happy to have him as a part of their family. 🏡🐾🐶

🐾 🐶Protecting Little Necks: Preventing Collapsed Trachea 🐾🦮

Many of our small-breed dogs—like Yorkies, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, and Shih Tzus—are prone to a condition called collapsed trachea. This occurs when the airway weakens, making breathing more difficult and often causing a distinctive “honking” cough.

💡 The good news? There’s a simple way to help reduce the risk and keep our pups comfortable: use a harness instead of a traditional neck collar.

Harnesses distribute pressure across the chest and shoulders rather than the delicate trachea, helping to:
✔️ Reduce strain on the airway
✔️ Prevent coughing and breathing difficulties
✔️ Provide better control during walks
✔️ Increase overall comfort and safety

When choosing a harness, look for:
🐶 Soft, padded materials for comfort
🐶 Proper fit—snug but not restrictive
🐶 Front or back clip options to minimize pulling
🐶 Step-in or vest styles for even pressure distribution

This message is simply meant to share helpful information so that every dog can enjoy safe and happy walks. Every pet parent makes the best choices they can with the information they have, and we’re grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about their furry family members. 💕

Together, we can help our little companions breathe easier and live healthier lives.

💔➡️❤️ A Senior Kitty Still Waiting for His Happy Ending ❤️➡️💔

In December, we received a heartbreaking phone call about a sweet senior kitty who was found outside in freezing temperatures—literally freezing to death. A good Samaritan called us in tears, begging for help. While we weren’t able to take him directly into our rescue at the time, we were able to step in and help with his emergency medical care at MedVet ER.

From there, the most amazing thing happened. Alley Cats and Aristocat stepped up without hesitation, took this precious boy into their care, and found him a loving foster home. Because of them—and because one person cared enough to make that call—this sweet soul is alive today. 🐾

Now, this gentle, affectionate senior boy is ready for the one thing he’s never truly had: a forever home. A quiet place to rest, a warm bed, kind hands, and a heart that will love him for the rest of his days.

If you would consider opening your heart and home—whether through adoption or fostering—please know that he will give you nothing but love in return. Senior kitties have a way of loving deeply and gratefully… and this boy is no exception.

If this story speaks to you, please message me. Let’s help this sweet soul finally know what forever feels like. 🖤🐱
