Rotaplast International is currently in Delhi, India, where our incredible team of volunteer surgeons, nurses, and medical professionals are transforming lives through free cleft lip and palate surgeries.

We are honored to partner with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, Delhi), Rotary Club of Delhi-Restoring Smiles, and the local community to provide compassionate care to children and families who need it most.

Year after year, decade after decade, Rotarian and Rotaplast volunteer Orlando Arce has shown what true service and compassion look like. A steady and humble presence, he has always been a supporter of those most in need, consistently showing up and making a difference.

On our Rotaplast surgical mission in Medellín, Colombia, hope truly took flight.

Patients from remote and rural communities were flown into the city to receive life-changing cleft lip and palate surgeries. For many, this is their first time seeing a specialist and their first step toward a brighter, healthier future.

In every profession, there are people whose quiet strength transforms lives. Mr. Jimmie Jinx was one of those rare souls.

Born with a cleft lip and palate—and never receiving speech therapy—Mr. Jinx lived with profoundly hypernasal speech. Yet he was an accomplished engineer, a tireless advocate, and a man of extraordinary kindness.

After meeting Dr. Marlene Salas-Provance during a talk about Rotaplast International, Mr. Jinx turned his own story into a beacon of hope. For years, he shared his experiences with graduate students, inspiring countless future clinicians to lead with empathy.

He didn’t stop there—he organized fundraisers from his long-term care facility, supporting student service trips to Peru so children born with cleft conditions could receive life-changing therapy.

Mr. Jinx’s voice—once misunderstood—now echoes in every classroom, every clinic, and every mission fueled by the generosity and courage he embodied.
