⚠️ SEVERE WEATHER ALERT ⚠️

The National Weather Service is forecasting a significant severe-weather threat across portions of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky this evening and overnight.

For our region, the primary severe-weather window is expected to be approximately 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. Potential hazards include:

Damaging wind gusts, possibly exceeding 75 mph
Large hail
A few tornadoes
Frequent lightning and localized power outages

Because the greatest threat may occur after dark, take time now to prepare:

âś… Charge phones, weather radios, flashlights, and portable battery packs.
âś… Secure outdoor furniture, trash cans, tents, signs, and other loose objects.
✅ Identify your safest shelter location—preferably a basement or small interior room on the lowest floor.
âś… Keep shoes, medications, identification, and emergency supplies nearby.
âś… Enable Wireless Emergency Alerts and have more than one way to receive warnings.
âś… Bring pets indoors and make sure family members know where to shelter.
âś… Never drive through flooded roadways or approach downed power lines.

If a Tornado Warning is issued, move to shelter immediately. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado.

Rescue 101 SAR will continue monitoring conditions throughout the evening. Please remain weather-aware, check on vulnerable family members and neighbors, and share this post so others have time to prepare.

Stay alert. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: WHY I SERVE
Nathaniel Lee | Deputy Chief of Medical Operations

At Rescue 101 SAR, our mission is powered by dedicated volunteers who answer the call, no matter where they are or what they’re doing. This month, we’re proud to highlight Nathaniel Lee and his reason for serving.

Nathaniel’s journey is rooted in a lifelong commitment to service. With a background spanning military and EMS, he brings both experience and leadership to every mission. But for him, it goes deeper than skill; it’s about purpose.

“It’s my duty and responsibility to answer the cry for help.”

His motivation is grounded in faith and a strong sense of calling, stepping forward when others are in need, regardless of the challenge ahead.

From leading teams in the field to working side-by-side with volunteers after long operational days, Nathaniel emphasizes what makes Rescue 101 different:

• Leadership that leads from the front
• A team that works together—on and off the mission
• A commitment to doing whatever it takes to get the job done

He’s seen firsthand the impact of showing up for communities during their worst moments:

“That could be your community, or your family, facing that nightmare. We show up because we would hope someone would do the same for us.”

Balancing life, work, and volunteering isn’t always easy, but for Nathaniel, it comes down to priorities and commitment. And despite the challenges, he continues to answer the call because of something bigger than himself:

“Knowing that I am part of something truly good… something much bigger than me.”

In one sentence—Why does Nathaniel serve?
“To serve others, no matter what.”

Thank you, Nathaniel, for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving others.
