I am so honored to announce the recipient of the first Chris Cahoon Memorial Scholarship was Samuel Bade! I completely forgot to have a photo take of him and I with our own camera so I had to wait until the SSP Educational Foundation posted them on their page, Oops! Next year I'll do better 😁 Haha!

It was such a wonderful evening, full of young adults so grateful for these gifts. I am already excited for next year!

Once again, thank you to all who made this possible! I am forever grateful ❤️

We’re getting so close! It’s almost banquet and award time! The students have submitted their applications and the judges are working on the review process as we speak! Once again, I want to thank everyone who donated over the past year. We were able to raise enough to meet our goal, and have a little left over to put towards next years award! I couldn’t have done this without Scott Erickson, Maxwell Scott Paul, Luke Johnson and everyone who participated in the Cahoon Walleye Invitational! Thank you from the bottom of not only my heart, but Chris’s too 💛

If you guys still want to donate, please send me a PM and I will point you in the right direction! Any donations will go towards next years award and I’m hoping to double the amount for 2020! I need everyone’s help to achieve this goal!! 🤗

A HUGE THANK YOU to Maxwell Scott Paul, Scott Erickson, Luke Johnson, and everyone who participated in The 2nd annual Cahoon Walleye Invitational on Mille Lacs this weekend! These three guys organized this entire tournament in honor of Chris, took time away from their own families, and put in their own sweat and money to make it happen. They raised a bunch of money this weekend and made a VERY generous donation to the scholarship! I’m so appreciative for their efforts as we’ve already met our goal for this years award! Woo Hoo!!

Chris would be so damn proud and I know he’s smiling down on all of us for keeping his legacy alive. He would have given the shirt off his back for anyone who needed it, especially his friends and family. This past Saturday was three years to the day, we held his service and said goodbye to one of the best guys on earth. It was so fitting to spend the day out on the ice celebrating his life, exactly the way he would have wanted.

I also have to give a shout out to Justin Cherry for borrowing us his fish house, it made sitting out on a frozen lake, bearable! And my amazing fiancée for not even blinking an eye and getting right in there to help out this weekend. Chris was a great friend of his as well and to say it was an emotional weekend, is an understatement.

So I’ll say it again, thank you guys again from the bottom of my heart 🥰 and thank you for honoring someone who meant the world to so many. He was truly an angel on earth ❤️

This years weather was a drastic difference from the previous year. It was 40 degrees and sunny last year, and this past weekend was frigidly cold. I didn’t spend as much time outside this time because of it, but I did get some pics below from this weekend 😊 fingers crossed we get the 40 degree temps back next year!! 🤞

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has sent in a donation so far!! It means more to me than I can put into words!! ❤️❤️

These two women are fantastic. Great message! One of the reasons I started this scholarship in honor of my late fiancée, Chris Cahoon, is because he doesn’t get to live the rest of his life. Although I do feel like a part of me died along with him, I am still left on this earth to make sure he still exists. I get to live for both of us, do amazing things, and honor his precious 35 years of life! I feel like I owe it to him to make my time here everything I want it to be. You never know how much time you have left, make it count! ❤️

Just a reminder- Please feel free to share any stories and/or pictures you have of Chris here! We'd all love to see and hear them! ❤️

With the start of ice fishing upon us, I would like to take a moment and share a photo of Chris doing something he thoroughly enjoyed. He had sort of given up open water fishing when I met him, but still talked about ice fishing non stop. I think next to hunting, ice fishing was his second love. It wasn't until I talked him into open water fishing that he picked that back up again too. I know Chris had taken some chances out on the ice that would make anyone cringe in terms of safety, but he wound up learning his lesson on a very warm March day several years ago. One of his beloved 4 wheelers went through the ice, and he had to make a run for it! Thank god he didn't go through and since then, he had always taken caution when ice fishing. I can speak for him when I say, if you're going to be out on the ice this winter, take caution. Listen to the daily ice reports, and resort owners. Don't take chances and stay out of areas roped off by the resorts. Fish responsibly and ethically, and enjoy your time either by yourself doing what you love, or spending quality time with your family! Be safe and good luck to all the ice fishermen and women out there!

Hi everyone! In honor of it being hunting season, I thought I would share one of my FAVORITE pictures of Chris (Well and one of my favs of him and I). 2015 was the last year Chris and I were able to hunt together and even though we were not able to harvest a deer that year, the trip was not a total bust. Sometimes it's not always about the harvest. Sometimes being able to sit in the stand with your best friend, spending quality time together is better than any trophy deer out there... 😊

Hi Everyone! Me again! Also wanted to mention to please feel free to share any pictures or memories you have with Chris here. I'd love to see and hear anything you have!
