We stand with Minnesota's labor movement. Please read the MN AFLCIO statement on the Day of Truth and Freedom.

The Executive Board of the Minnesota AFL-CIO, the state’s federation of more than 1,000 affiliated local unions, voted to endorse Friday’s Day of Truth and Freedom as Minnesotans stand together against ICE’s occupation of our communities and the unconstitutional detention of countless innocent...

Check out this event at the East Side Freedom Library! A great opportunity to learn about the modern labor movement, both nationally and locally!

Join us for an essential conversation about the labor movement's revival with Dave Kamper, author of "Who's Got the Power? The Resurgence of American Unions."

🗓️ Saturday, January 24, 2026
🕰️ 1-2:30pm
📍East Side Freedom Library

A Twin Cities resident, veteran labor organizer, and labor historian who has taught at Metro State University and now works at the Economic Policy Institute, Kamper offers a compelling exploration of how American workers emerged from the pandemic with newfound energy and strength.

Through interviews with workers and labor leaders—from Frito-Lay workers in Kansas and teachers in Chicago to Amazon warehouse workers in New York and auto workers in Detroit—he captures the stories of those on the front lines of a new wave of labor activism.

Dave will be joined by a panel of local labor activists who have been part of this resurgence and have read his book. Copies will be available for purchase.

Whether you're deeply involved in labor organizing or simply curious about the seismic changes reshaping American work today, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.

After just under a year of bargaining, workers at all three Mississippi Market Co-Op locations in St Paul have come to a tentative agreement with the company! The contract would include immediate wage increases, improvements to PTO, an additional paid holiday, and job security, plus more! Congratulations to the workers who fought so hard to see this happen!

The contract will protect workers' healthcare while also providing wage increases, and includes back pay retroactive to April! It was a long process and we thank all the members who took the time to get involved.

Please support workers at the city of St Paul!

The City of Saint Paul has proposed devastating changes to its Civil Service Rules that will harm city workers and the residents they serve.

Civil service rules are a merit-based system of hiring, firing and promotional practices. They have been in effect for over a hundred years as a means of combating political corruption.

St. Paul residents and non-residents alike are encouraged to sign AFSCME Council 5's petition to members of the City Council:

📣 Calling all union allies: Join St. Anthony union baristas at the Red Cup Day Rally!

Let's show up for Starbucks baristas as they prepare to do whatever it takes to get a fair union contract and an end to Starbucks years-long union busting campaign – including striking if necessary.
