I just had this idea on how to get Christmas gifts to kids living in motels and the good people at Rutgers UBHC help me to make it happen -Jack Ballo šŸ˜Ž Dear Friends,

In between my real job, I’ve been helping homeless kids and adults for many years now and have watched the numbers continue to increase, especially with children living in motels. Every year since 2021 I reach out to my Facebook frie

nds and ask for donations to help me to get homeless children Christmas gifts. Most of the kids come from families of single mothers who were victims of domestic violence or have gone through addiction and are now in recovery trying to save their families. I’m working directly with their case managers along with their supervisor, Brenda Oscar, from Rutgers Behavioral Health Care who support homeless families. With the help of my Facebook friends, family and people I don't even know, we were able to give out 86 Amazon gift cards that went to Christmas gifts for kids living in motels. The way it works is that three caseworkers who are now friends of mine give me a list of children living in motels and through Facebook, I connect caring generous people with the names on the list. Anyone who wants to donate a gift card can simply go to the Amazon link on this page and purchase the card. When you purchase it, the gift card goes to Brenda Oscar from Rutgers UBHC. Brenda and I then go over the list and match your card up with a child living in a motel. The child gets the present from Santa on Christmas day. It's that simple! Hey everyone I’m back again trying to get Christmas presents to HOMELESS KIDS living in motels!

Last year we raised over $3,000 in gift cards that went 100% to kids living in motels. I’m hoping that we can raise $4,200 this year so that I can give $50 gift cards to 84 homeless kids. If you can, please consider sending a $25 or $50 Amazon gift card to help me get presents for children who will wake up in a motel on Christmas Day. If you can't make a donation, please share this and help me to spread the word.

Most of the kids come from families of single mothers who were victims of domestic violence or have gone through addiction and are now in recovery trying to save their families. I’m working directly with their case managers along with their supervisor, Brenda Oscar, at Rutgers Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) who support homeless families.

This is how it works…through Facebook, I connect caring generous people with the children who are living in motels. Brenda and I go over a list of homeless children and match your card up with a child living in a motel. This year we have four Rutgers social work students, who are UBHC interns, working with the case managers to assist in delivering the gift cards and helping the parents make the Amazon purchase.

Anyone who wants to donate a gift card can simply go to the Amazon link below and purchase the card from a registry that I set up to make it easy to donate.

This is something I've done every year since 2021 to help make Christmas a little brighter for children living in poverty. I am not part of Rutgers UBHC or any other non-profit organization. I just had this idea and the good people at Rutgers UBHC help me make it happen!

Any chance you want to help me get some Christmas presents to HOMELESS KIDS living in motels?

Last year, with your help, I was able to give out 73 Amazon gift cards to the mothers of homeless kids to buy them Christmas gifts. This year I'm trying to help 68 homeless children get Christmas gifts. If you haven't made a Christmas donation to a charity yet, would you please consider sponsoring a homeless child by sending a $35 Amazon card to one of them?

I’ve made a couple of documentaries about homeless adults and made friends with many case managers over the years. There are three case managers who I became very close with who work primarily with homeless families. Each one of them gave me a list of children living in Motels.

Most of the kids come from families of single mothers who were victims of domestic violence or have gone through addiction and are now in recovery trying to save their families. I’m working directly with their case managers along with their supervisor, Rudy Coleman, at Rutgers Behavioral Health Care who support homeless families.
I had a meeting with Rudy and the case managers last week and they told me that when they go to the motels to present the gift cards to the families, they sometimes see other children there who are not part of the Rutgers program. My goal this year is to get 78 Amazon Gift cards. 68 will go to the kids on the list and the additional 10 will go to other kids living in motels who are not in the program

This is how it works…through Facebook, I connect caring generous people with the children on the list who are living in motels. Rudy and I then go over the list and match your card up with a child living in a motel. The case manager delivers the gift card and helps the parent make the Amazon purchase. The child gets the present from Santa on Christmas day.

Anyone who wants to donate a gift card can simply go to the Amazon link below and purchase the card. When you purchase it, you put in the name and address below as the shipping address and the gift card will get to Rudy at Rutgers.

BTW - this is something I do every year as a volunteer helping to make Christmas a little brighter for children living in poverty. 100 percent of all donations go directly to Christmas gifts for the kids. I am not connected to Rutgers UBHC or any other non-profit organization. I just happen to know a lot of good people.

If you can help...

Please send a $35 Amazon card (Free Shipping) to:

Rudy Coleman
Rutgers UBHC
151 Centennial Ave.
Piscataway, NJ 08854

908-547-9211

Please don't increase the amount over $35 as it needs to be the same for all the kids.

After you ā€œProceed to Checkoutā€ make sure that you add the Rutgers UBHC address as the shipping address.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!
