July is the start of a new year for the auxiliary. Officers have been
elected and chairman appointed for the 26-27 year. Our membership
at this time is 62 and we average 5 members at our monthly meetings.
If you are a member, please consider joining us, if it is a ride, you need or if
dues are an issue we are here to help. If you know of anyone that is eligible
be an advocate we need new members and we need active members NOW.
We are so thankful for all the volunteers that help us with our pasty sale, we
couldn’t do it without them. With the profits from the pasty sale we are able
to help or give support to D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, Oscar J Johnson VA
Hospital, Military Association Program, Veteran and Military Su***de Prevention,
Veteran’s Healthcare, scholarship programs for our children, 4th of July in South
Range, Veteran Hockey Team, Senior scholarship, sponsor a baseball team etc.
We ended the year assisting the VFW with Buddy Poppies, Memorial Day
services, pancake breakfast & bake sale, volunteering at Vetfest,
4th of July chicken barbeque and more. Monthly
meetings are still on the second Thursday of each month, joint meeting at
6:30 VFW and auxiliary meetings at 7:00. Monthly pasty sale the third Tuesday of
each month with prep starting the Sunday and Monday before. A few things in
the works for the coming year are doing bingo at Oscar J Johnson VA
Hospital on September 1st and having another District 15 Family Freedom Festival,
Chassell VFW will host the event with the help of all the auxiliaries. We are here
to support our veterans, active-duty soldiers and their families and pay
tribute to those who have passed on.
