Due to a changing business environment, we have made the difficult decision to retire our current Teach Abroad programs beginning in 2027 as well as all new TEFL certification programs beginning in June 2026. We will also suspend our Teach in Spain Volunteer program beginning in Fall 2026.

CIEE remains committed to our mission of promoting intercultural understanding through international exchange and study abroad programs.

If you’ve always dreamt of living abroad and you’re curious about teaching, it’s time to do something about it!!!

A year ago, I decided I was going to move to Spain to teach English. Leaving my life in San Diego was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it has been the adventure of a lifetime and there hasn’t bee a day that I regretted taking this chance ❤️

Have questions about the application process? Comment below or DM us! We understand how stressful it can be and we’re here to help, plus we can give you a discount 🤓

Next thing you know, this could be a normal day for you in 8 months…🚛

Let students take the lead! I like tangents because they give students the chance to talk about what interests them, so it helps me get to know them better. At the same time, I can guide them towards the main discussion points. Moreover, this can make classes more memorable and can help students focus because they want to contribute to the “side conversation” that actually connects to the lesson plan. Although this type of class can be tricky, experience will help you guide students towards an exciting, discussion-based class.
