Artistree Community Arts Center seeks a visionary, collaborative Executive Director to lead our nonprofit arts organization in South Pomfret, Vermont. Serving as the organization's chief executive, the Executive Director oversees strategic planning, operations, finance, fundraising, community engagement, and staff leadership while advancing Artistree's mission to provide joyful, meaningful, and accessible arts experiences for all.
Working closely with the Founder and Board of Directors, the Executive Director will guide organizational growth, support high-quality programming in visual arts, theatre, music, movement, and education, and serve as Artistree's primary ambassador throughout the Upper Valley and beyond.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead organizational strategy, planning, and implementation
• Oversee finances, budgeting, operations, and nonprofit compliance
• Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and community partners
• Support and strengthen artistic, educational, and community programming
• Provide leadership and supervision to staff while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
• Serve as the public face and advocate for Artistree and the arts
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of leadership experience in a nonprofit arts, cultural, educational, or related organization
• Strong skills in strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, and team leadership
• Proven success building partnerships and engaging community stakeholders
• Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
• Passion for arts education, community engagement, and equitable access to the arts
Experience in arts administration, performing arts, gallery operations, arts education, or nonprofit management is highly desirable.
POSITION DETAILS
• Full-time, exempt position
• Based in South Pomfret, VT
• Occasional evenings and weekends required
• Salary: $85,000–$100,000 plus competitive benefits
