Post 243 in South Plainfield along with VFW Memorial Post 6763 is pleased to announce we are resuming our annual picnic!! 🍔🌭

🗓️ Come out on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 1-6pm for a day of food and fun!!! There will be a bounce house for the kids and the Second Wind New Jersey band will be playing!!!

🎟️ Tickets are available for purchase now at the bar. Stop in after 3pm on weekends or after 4pm during the week.

National Night Out returns to South Plainfield on Tuesday, August 4!

Join us from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the South Plainfield Library Parking Lot for an evening filled with fun, food, music, giveaways, and community spirit! Admission is free.

Members of the South Plainfield High School National Arts Honor Society finished a months-long project to create a new mural on the West wall of Chaumont Post 243, which was designed by SPHS student Leyla Rodon. The students were led by Ella Kloby and supervised by Erin Donnelly and Kristen Brinkman, the NAHS advisors.
Additional supplies were provided by Legion members Bob Bengivenga and Rich Doerr. Sherwin-Williams of South Plainfield also helped with a discount on paint.

Commander John McConville said, "The students and teachers, with the help of parents, did a great job on completing the patriotic design. We've received many compliments on the mural."

Earlier this month, the students pictured below were treated to a pizza party at Chaumont Post 243, The American Legion.
