A lot of women have had it bad in our traditional Igbo Societies, especially poor widows who had female children but could not bear male kids for their husbands before the cold hands of death took them away.

These poor widows suffer lack and loss and above all are denied any inheritance in their husbands families. A lot of sensitisation is needed in this regard and this responsibility falls heavily on the shoulders of NGOs, Civil Society Organizations and Society for family health.

This is a good step in a good direction.

Education they say is the fulcrum upon which sustainable human development revolves.

At Brian Nkemdirim Uba Foundation Inc our choices of the underserved and the less privileged for academic scholarship to enable them achieve their educational dreams and life aspirations do not just consider backgrounds only. We also check out their intellectual capacities.

He or she that is being helped must also study hard to help him or herself; this is our mantra and a matter of basic principle.

This principle has paid off as the beneficiaries of our scheme have continued to make us proud. It is our hope that as this academic session for 2026/2027 Academic year begins, we will definitely add to the number Godwilling based on the resources that would be at our disposal by God's grace.

To all our sponsors who have contributed in one way or the other towards ensuring that this scheme is sustainable, I say may God bless you all.

You can check below to see the wonderful outcome of your investment evident in the academic records of one of our beneficiaries for the last academic session. What an excellent result. We wish her all the best as she continues to make us proud.

Thank you for your attention.
