The Woman's Club of South Pasadena

The Woman's Club of South Pasadena Established in 1899, the WCSP is a philanthropic, non-profit organization of women from all age groups.

We serve our community, surrounding comunities, and a number of charities whose outreach is recognized throughout the Los Angeles County. The Woman's Club of South Pasadena was established in 1899. Through diligent fundraising efforts over the next 14 years, the Club raised enough money to build its own Clubhouse. One of the leading architects of the time, Norman Marsh Foote, built the Clubhouse i

n 1913. The "house," which was never just a residence, was fashioned in the popular Craftsman style of the period. Over the years, the WCSP has provided a meeting place for its members to express and share thoughts and ideas, build a network of businesswomen, and provide outreach and community service to South Pasadena and surrounding areas. The Club's reputation as a philanthropic cornerstone of the community still stands strong today. The Clubhouse itself has stood strong through a century of dry California weather and gradual climate changes. In spite of its strength, its age is beginning to show, and one of the Club's biggest fundraising endeavors is now to restore the Clubhouse to its former beauty. The WCSP is part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, an international organization "...dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service," and to which almost 90,000 women are members through their affiliated clubs.
