"Imagine she is holding a box, and regardless of the size, it has all the room you need to fill it with everything you hope she'll take with her. Fill it with your favorite memories of times spent together. Fill it with promises of things you will do because of her, and in honor of her. Fill it with all the reasons you love her and all the reasons you will miss her. This will be what she takes with her..."

That is the advice I gave to a young woman who was sitting at the bedside of her Aunt hours before she took her last breath last night. Sometimes people don't know what to say, sometimes they need a visual like an old antique box, to get things started.

The most beautiful part of my evening, was sitting back and watching her fill the box for a woman she loves...

People ask me how I can do this work... there are too many reasons to list. This work gives me purpose, it teaches and guides me constantly, and it fills me up in ways that soothes my soul. Last night was another beautiful reminder of why I am where I am in my life...
