RADHIKA: GET TO KNOW ME!

My name is Radhika Shukla. I am a wife, mom, sales executive, dancer, fitness enthusiast, beauty pageant winner(recently crowned Mrs India League of America, Mrs Entrepreneur @InternationalPageantsInc) and a strong advocate of women empowerment and upliftment.

Pursuing my passion for modelling and dance, I'm able to advocate for several social causes that I actively support. I am on the Executive Board of Pioneer Medical Research that helps saves babies with weak lungs and a member of Detroit Duchess Club that helps empower, uplift and educate women of all ethnicities from diverse backgrounds. I am also the Vice-Chair of Michigan Indo American Democratic Caucus engaging fellow Indians in mainstream politics, making sure their voices are heard and am also involved in grassroots campaigns for our elected officials. Acting as a cultural ambassador, I have been instrumental in promoting social progress on all dimensions bringing our community together and giving back to the society and continue to serve in every way I can. I volunteer at Detroit Education Society and Detroit DigiGirlz at Microsoft to help middle schoolers understand the importance of STEM education and help guide their career path in technology through counselling. I strongly believe one has the ability to win in every facet of life as long as one is willing to persevere, work hard and stay committed to the highest standards in that field. I want to inspire and motivate every woman out there to live her dreams and believe in herself cause I believe if you can Dream it, you can Do it and "A women is nothing but the product of her thoughts; what she thinks, she becomes".

On the work and career front, I'm an accomplished Global Account Director at Microsoft and a University of Michigan-Ross MBA with over 16 Years of experience in Strategic Sales, C-Suite Relationship/Account Management, Resource Management, Project/Solution Sales/Execution, Customer Acquisition, Sales Planning/Forecasting, Data Analysis and Organization Change Management. My passion lies in helping my customers solve their business challenges through innovative digital transformation solutions and engaging experiences fostering strong partnerships in the tech industry along the way. I view myself as a dynamic, decisive strategic thinker driven to succeed through teamwork, creativity, innovation and ex*****on in complex business environments. Strong minded, fearless, compassionate with a dynamic energetic spirit is how I'm known among friends! I am married to a wonderful man for over 18 years and am blessed with two amazing kids, an 11 year old daughter and a three year old son. Dancing is my passion and have been trained in Indian Folk Dance for over 10 years. I have also worked as a TV anchor/host for a South-East Asian TV Channel in Michigan covering local events, interviewing celebrities from diverse cultural backgrounds and countries and raising awareness about social causes.

I am blessed and privileged to be the official Ms Michigan North America and during my reign I will be using my title to raise awareness about Palav, a non-profit that is saving babies with weak lungs across the globe and MICS(Michigan Indian Community Service).

My hope is to increase awareness for Pioneer Medical Research/Palav that helps provide infrastructure, resources and services for saving premature babies in several countries and MICS that is helping people cope with the current COVID19 crisis.

Pioneer Medical Research Foundation’s Project Palav implements a simple cost effective breathing support system that provides breathing support, tools and resources to newborns and saves lives. Our Mission : - Provide Breathing Support Equipment/Infrastructure for newborns with breathing difficulty. - Provide Training to Healthcare Providers, Nurses and New Mothers - Provide Upgraded Rural and Tribal Health Care Centers - Provide Palav Pouch and transport Incubators for safe transport of babies to Level II hospitals

MICS is a collective initiative with the mission of uniting the Indian-American community in order to effectively meet local needs in response to the unprecedented epidemic. There are currently 100+ volunteers including youth who play a vital role in the success of the group. Several groups including professional experts and task forces have been created to address the multiple needs in the community. A hotline (248-660-0252) was established as well as a separate dedicated medical hotline (248-873-2020) which is staffed by practicing physicians allowing the community to benefit from experts' advice. The following projects are currently being managed by MICS: Senior Citizen Assist, International Student Assist, Small Business Support, Plasma Donation, Meals for healthcare heroes, Masks/PPE for frontline workers, Medical hotline support, etc. I’m proud to be leading the youth volunteers in this inititiave. I’m also the PR lead working actively to spread awareness about this action oriented group.

I feel honored to announce that very soon I will be participating in the Ms North America Pageant to be held in Florida in June 2020. As a representative of a very diverse culture and ethnicity, I take great pride in my identity and roots as an Asian Indian American . My passion to keep trying despite obstacles, struggles and hurdles in my path and my innate ability to connect instantly with people around me sets me apart. I have great self-esteem and immense confidence which makes me willing to seek out and accept challenges remaining undaunted and fearless. Above all, I’m not afraid of failure..in fact, I believe its an essential part of the experimental process that gets you to success. By being a part of this pageant, I already feel like a winner since I have gained an opportunity to discover my strengths and perfect them, realize my weaknesses and transform them into strengths and now strongly believe in my abilities to bring the Crown home! My Goal in Life: To give back to society/community as I am grateful for all that I have been blessed with and would like to pay it forward through the social causes I support.
