I hope this message finds you well. Once again, we are excited to invite our friends, partners, and supporters to join us for one of Lorain County’s biggest days of giving Connect to a Cause! Connect to a Cause returns Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Connect to a Cause is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together and support the local nonprofit organizations working every day to make Lorain County a stronger place to live, work, and thrive. This year, we are asking our community to once again consider supporting El Centro.

Your contribution helps El Centro continue providing vital programs and services throughout Lorain County, including services for seniors, youth and families, health and wellness programs, Representative Payee Services, transportation assistance, homebuyer education, community outreach, and many other programs designed to strengthen and support our community. Every contribution regardless of the amount helps us continue this important work.

Our friends at Pointe Ballet are presenting United We Dance: Company Performances & Inclusive Workshops next Friday, September 11.
Included in the performance will be a NPB original piece set to Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue"
About the piece that she originally choreographed on NPB dancers in 2023, Laura Rubio shares:
"Rhapsody is the combination of everything I love about performing and dancing. It’s exciting, sharp, and jazzy! Ballet and dance are incredibly challenging physically and mentally, but they are also such a joy. Rhapsody encompasses how I feel when I’m lost in a performance and don’t have any nerves at all, because at the end of the day, DANCE is fun and a gift! I hope the audience has fun watching."

North Pointe Ballet will host its 5th Annual fall ‘Ballet in the Park’ event at Lakeview Park in Lorain on Friday, September 11, 2026. Entitled United We Dance, this event is a twist on NPB’s typical fall repertoire concert. The community dance celebration will combine professional performance with interactive, inclusive workshops. Youth audience members will be invited onstage to participate in a dance and choreography lesson before sharing their dance with their families onstage.

The event will be presented outdoors near the historic rose garden at Lakeview Park. Stay after the concert to watch the sunset on Lakeview Beach. Attendance is free! Lawn seating — bring a blanket or a chair.
