West River Trail Run The trail is appropriate for all skill levels of trail running. There is surpack at the beginning 4 miles following the river as you pass through a camp ground.

The West River Trail Run is an annual run and FUNdraiser to benefit The Collaborative's long-standing programs such as Refuse to Use, Summer Camp, and the Extended Day Program. Then into the woods as you watch your step with rocks, leaves and trees (Oh, My!) cross over Angel Falls (yes water), don't forget to look up! Up the hill you go! Then down the gnarly switchback at Ball Mtn Dam. Almost ther

e as the river is now to the right of you! A couple miles down the surpack in Jamaica State Park and you cross the finish to dip your feet in the river. May 17, 2024 UPDATE

Apologies for the sparse communication.

We were hoping to pull off a June 1st event but the logistics have forced us to postpone until Fall. We do have a modified route in mind but it will require a bit of a different approach, which will require extra time to iron out.

The Winhall Brook Campground is closed to vehicles and camping and Jamaica State Park has an active landslide on the rail trail. Both locations are key to pulling off the 11 Miles of Trouble.

With the help of the Friends of West River Trail, we've been able to explore an out-and-back option that we hope to use in the fall.

2024 WRTR UPDATE

As most of you know, we experienced severe flooding in July of 2023. As a result, Jamaica State Park, Winhall Campground and parts of the West River Trail were severely damaged.

We are working closely with all entities involved to create a modified trail run for 2024. The date will remain the same, June 1, 2024 but the course might look a little different!

As soon as we lock down a course, we'll get the deets out to you and open up registration.

All right everyone! The West River Trail Run is officially sold out! All tee shirts, bibs and medals have been allocated.

Thank you to everyone who signed up!

Unofficially there may be a few spots available on Saturday morning between 7:30am and 7:45am at the South Londonderry Depot.
