Our office will be closed Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

It’s a day to honor the history, resilience, and contributions of Native communities. It’s also a day to remember why our work matters. According to the National Institute of Justice, more than 4 in 5 American Indian and Alaska Native women (84%) have experienced violence in their lifetime. Ending violence means making sure every community is seen, heard, and supported.

We’ll be back Tuesday, ready to keep showing up for survivors and for each other.

In September 1977, our agency opened as The South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center.

🗓️ In 2012, we changed to Live Violence Free to be more inclusive of all survivors.

⛰️ Last year, our change to Vista Rise Collective meant a new name, logo, and colors… but our commitment remains the same.

1. Limit doomscrolling by choosing specific times to check in and muting triggering keywords.
2. Calm your body with a glass of water, a walk outside, or deep breaths.
3. Channel your compassion into action by sharing resources, volunteering, or supporting local causes.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜 You’ll see plenty of purple from us this month, but we want to make one thing unmistakably clear: If you are a survivor of sexual assault, Vista Rise Collective is your agency, too. 🩵

Harm doesn't come in neat categories, and neither do survivors. Whether your experience happened recently or years ago, inside a relationship or outside of one, our support is free, confidential, and open to you whenever you need it.
