Bread & Broth is deeply grateful to Mott Canyon Tavern & Grill for sponsoring an Adopt A Day of Nourishment on March 23rd. đź’™

Thanks to the generosity of owners Mark and Janeen White and their incredible team, over 100 community members enjoyed a nourishing, restaurant-quality meal in a welcoming and caring environment. Their willingness to give back, and to personally volunteer their time, means so much to everyone we serve.

It’s support like this that allows us to continue providing not only meals, but also compassion, connection, and hope to those in need.

Bread & Broth is incredibly grateful for the continued support of Caesars Republic/Harrah’s HEROs 💙

As one of our longest-standing Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsors, the HEROs team has been showing up for our community since 2012 - bringing not only helping hands, but heart, compassion, and hospitality to every Monday Meal.

Their first sponsorship of 2026 on March 16th was no exception. Volunteers Darlene Winkelman, Jen Cisneros, Sherry Newberger, Devon Falk, and Mark McDonald helped serve 117 meals to community members in need. From warm smiles to dedicated service, their impact was felt by everyone in the room.

“I loved it… I didn’t know we had so much need in our community,” shared Jenn.
“Happy to see there was plenty of food for everyone… a real sense of community,” added Devon.

Thank you to the HEROs organization and Caesars Republic/Harrah’s for your ongoing commitment to making a difference. Together, we are nourishing our community, one meal at a time. 🍽️

A huge THANK YOU to Liberty for sponsoring our Monday Meal on February 23rd!
Liberty team members Ray Torres, Cindy Ramos, Gary Baugh, and James Martin joined our volunteers for the evening — helping set up, packing fresh fruit and veggie bags, serving dinner, and pitching in for cleanup. Their energy and enthusiasm meant the world to us and our guests!

One of the most active non-profit service organizations in Lake Tahoe South Shore community is the Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe. This international organization is dedicated to helping the children of the world. Guided by the motto, “It’s all about the Kids,” the club consists of dedicated people who have a passion for community projects benefitting children.

Bread & Broth is very grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe for choosing Bread & Broth as one of their service projects. The club’s most recent AAD sponsorship took place on Monday February 16th. Representatives from the organization included Linda Amaral, Michele Amaral, Don Borges, Margie Kovarik-Maxhimer, and Velma Schnoll (the club’s president). Additional Kiwanis Club members volunteering at the meal were Bob Harms, Pat Frega, and Christy Slocum, who in addition to being Kiwanis Club members, are also regular Bread & Broth Monday Meal volunteers.

Representing Kirkwood Mountain Resort on 1/12, Josh, Natasha, and Dan joined the B&B volunteers in providing bags of healthy food and a Mexican themed dinner to the dinner guests who came to enjoy a hot meal and fellowship. The Adopt A Day sponsorship was the first of twelve meals that the local Vail Resort ski resorts will be hosting throughout 2026. For Josh, his first experience helping at a Monday Meal gave him "so much pride in the community, passion for the compassion, and gratitude for the B&B organization. I will be back!"

On Monday, Oct 27th, Liberty and its AAD crew of Jennifer, Matt, James, and Leah served up a Mexican themed dinner - Taco cassarol and Mexical rice that was a hit with the diners. In addition to the hot meal, the 138 dinner guests also appreciated the bags of food - meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, breads and pastries, and a variety of staples - for meals later in the week. "The number of 'thank you's and smiles we receive while serving were all so heart- felt," shared Leah. A big thank you to Liberty for hosting 4 to 6 Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorships annually and for the amazing crew members who donate their time and efforts to helps others.

"We are so happy to be included in this Bread & Broth meal," shared Jeanne, a member of the Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS). On October 20th, SITS sponsored the Monday Meal which is just one of the many ways this woman's service group serves the community. Jeanne added that "we give our service now to others with the knowledge and security of knowing our community is here for all of us when we need it."
