Experience a unique sense of place at the Hale House in the Matunuck hills, a late 19th century home in Coastal South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Former summer home of American author and clergyman Rev. Dr. Edward Everett Hale (1822-1909) and his family of artists and writers. Period rooms restored to 1890s appearance. Art exhibits and cultural programs. Guided tours will be offered by advance reservation on select Fridays and Saturdays after June 16th. Call 401-830-4677.

That's a wrap on another incredible season at the Hale House! A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our programs and stopped by to visit. We're officially closed for the season, but we'll see you all back here in 2027!

Due to popular demand, we will continue with our "Marketing Matunuck" exhibit, which describes a surge in the number of summer homes and hotels in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in this seaside community. Illustrated with historic postcards, it features the story of the development of Matunuck Park as a summer colony.

We will be open Wednesday afternoons from 1-4, June 24 through September 2 and by appointment. An opening reception will be held on June 17, 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Call or email for an appointment: [email protected], 401-830-4677.
