Our sweet big boy, Levon, crossed the bridge yesterday. House feels empty...his massive presence is missed by all, and we are reeling from the loss. Godspeed and RIP handsome boy. Cancer sucks 😢

Pretty girl Nyx is a 2.5 year old pittie mix looking for a new home. Nyx is a friendly, loving lady as soon as she earns your trust. She is leash trained and house broken (although every adopter should expect some level of participation in house training as the stress of a new home can cause regression). This smarty pants knows basic and some advanced commands. Nyx is a cuddle bug, but is an anxious girl that needs reassurance. Her current person is unable to provide the quiet, stable, adult only household that Nyx needs. She does not like cats, and does not get along with other dogs at this time. Big handsome boy Hector is again in need of a new home. After losing his original home due to his person's terminal illness, Hector thought he found a new home. However, it did not work out for him. We are seeking a patient, kind adult only--preferably female only--household that will be understanding of Hector's situation, and allow him time to grieve the loss of his long time home while adjusting to a new life. PATIENCE is a MUST. Hector needs to take new situations and experiences at his own pace. He can be grumbly and snippy if he is pushed to his limits or forced to do things he doesn't want to do. He seems to be more comfortable with women, but did live most of his life with a man. His new person should have basset experience, and understand that Hector may needs months to feel comfortable and ready to fully embrace a new family. At about nine years old, Hector deserves to live his senior years in a quiet, peaceful environment. Hector needs single level living and ideally a fenced yard. No apartments. No children. Broken hearted Little Sister lost her person recently, and doesn't understand why he isn't coming back home. This sweetie pie is 11 years old and 14ish pounds. She would love an understanding adult household that will give her the time she needs to grieve, as well as shower her with love and affection. Little Sister needs to be the only dog in the house; cats are OK as long as they are dog savvy and a little older. No children or busy lifestyles. Hector is an 8 year old Basset Hound, about 65 pounds, and currently in a foster home. He has only known his person....there were no other dogs in the house, and no children that interacted with him. Hector is overweight and has already lost some extra pounds, but still needs to lose a few more. We are seeking a patient, kind adult only household that will be understanding of Hector's situation, and allow him time to grieve the only life he's known while adjusting to a new life. Adorable Moose and his best pal Oonah find themselves homeless after their beloved mom passed away. Moose is an 11 year old, 11 pound long haired chihuahua boy. Oonah is a 5.5 year old, 9 pound girl indoor only kitty. These heartbroken babies are looking for a a loving adopter who will welcome both into a quiet, adult only home. Understandably, they will need some time to grieve their loss and get comfortable and acclimated to a new home and lifestyle. There should be no other pets in the home. Their new person must be patient and kind, and be home with them more often than not. Their previous mom was retired, and went out on occasional errands only. Gorgeous girl Emma is a 2 year old, 35 pound Springer Spaniel. She was surrendered by her people who could no longer care for her and wanted a better life for her. Emma is a HIGH energy, playful pup that needs an active adopter who will take her on hikes, jogs, outdoor activities and plenty of play time in the yard, and who must have experience with this breed and their needs. Another playful dog in the home would be a benefit but not necessary. Emma loves playing with her foster dog siblings, and will cuddle up for quiet time after her exercise needs are met. Preference given to adopters who have a large fenced yard for Emma to enjoy. Emma's adoption fee is $350.

Little man Parker spent several weeks in the dark, lonely woods in Texas waiting for a family that left and never came back for him. A caring man found Parker, and found a way to get him to safety. He was treated successfully for heartworm disease, and made his way to Maine. Despite the horrible feeling of abandonment, Parker is sweet, gentle and loyal. He loves his foster mom, and sticks close by her side. He gets along with his foster dog siblings, and is not sure about cats. We are guessing Parker is a terrier/chi mix, and estimated to be 5 years old and weighs 26 pounds. Parker deserves only the best in life from now on, and needs a patient, low key adopter committed to socializing him and loving this boy every day of his life. Parker's adoption fee is $250.

Handsome Duke is a 2 year old beagle that gets along with other dogs and is super friendly with everyone he meets. Duke is well mannered and eager to please. He would love an adopter with a warm heart and home that will cuddle with him and tell him over and over again what a terrific boy he is. Duke's adoption fee is $325.

RE-HOMING NEEDED!!

Sammy is a purebred beagle and is 1-1/2 years old and in the 30-ish pound range. Sadly, his elderly person recently passed, and Sammy is heartbroken. Despite his grief, he is a happy, loyal and silly boy. Sammy loves people, kids and other dogs, but will need his new person to be patient and understanding to help him through his trauma. Fortunately, Sammy is young and can be acclimated to a new environment with a savvy dog person who can understand his needs. Sweet, cuddly Sammy is neutered and up to date with vaccines. He is used to his person being home more than not, and will do best with an active family that will involve him in fun playtime and adventures, and help him be the best little boy he can be. REHOMING NEEDED

Willa is a sweet, friendly Maremma (Italian sheepdog). She came to a local rescue organization as a "package deal" with a flock of sheep rescued recently. Although she is an appropriate breed for guarding the sheep, she was not well trained for her job with the flock or was simply disinterested. She would be a great family companion and, with gentle training, a working dog with another flock of her own. In any case she is a large dog and will need plenty of running room and lots of loving attention.

Willa loves the company of people and uses any opportunity to join the family in fun, interactive adventures rather than spend all day with the flock. Preference will be given to a new family in which Willa is primarily a house dog, and secondarily a working dog (perhaps hobby farmers).

Willa is two years old and is current on vaccines including rabies. She weighs 84 pounds and is spayed. She gets along with most dogs she meets, but has not had a lot of exposure, and has had no exposure to children. Potential new adopters will need to meet Willa with their current dog(s) and children. Willa will not be placed in households with children under the age of 10.
