Doing our civic duty! Prior to Memorial Day, the Cubs undertook an annual responsibility to place flags at the grave of every Veteran interred at the Falls Cemetery. This year was special in that a ceremony was held to reveal a plaque dedicated to the Revolutionary Way Veterans on site. What did you do in May?

A Pack favorite, the Scouts did an overnight at the Herkimer Diamond Mine recently. Yes, diamonds! You get to keep what you find and the KOA across the street offers a lot of great fun activities for our Scouts and families. What did you do in May?

Join Hartsprings Foundation and GreenDrop on Saturday, June 6th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Liquor Town, 506 Granby Road in South Hadley for a Clothing Donation Drive benefiting South Hadley Scouting.

Your donations help support a program that gives young people the chance to build confidence, learn leadership skills, explore the outdoors, and create memories that will last a lifetime, all while helping keep reusable items out of the landfill.

Before Memorial Day, and close to the 82nd anniversary of the crash, our Pack helped to remember the loss of life when a B24 went down on Mt. Holyoke. Our Cubs hiked up the names of each crew member on the military flight, much like the rescuers did when they scaled the mountain in hopes of finding survivors.

Monday, our Scouts will be doing their annual service of replacing flags on the grave of every soldier interred at the Village Cemetery in preparation for Memorial Day. With the help of South Hadley American Legion Post 260, this year we will also be observing a special recognition for the Revolutionary War Veterans interred there.
