It is with great sadness that I let you know that Richard Robinson passed away last night. He was the founding Moose member that setup and organized the Newport Dunes campout for years. He will be known for his sense of humor, playing poker and just being a great friend. You will be missed Rich...

Another dear friend has passed away. Julie Hatch, a long time friend and camping buddy passed away yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her husband Hap, their family and friends. They were members of the Downey Moose Camper Club and then recently the Crean Cruisers. Many, many great memories...

Not sure who is still on the Downey Moose Camper Club Facebook but one of the original DMCC members passed away yesterday at the age of 85. Bob Beck was such a jokester and fun to be around. He would sing and imitate Elvis Presley. He was an Officer of the club and he and his wife Helen were very active in the club and moose for many years. He was known for saying “cheese and crackers” and if you order chicken, you have no beef coming. We have personally known them since the late 70’s. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Helen, their sons Bobby and Art and their entire family.

It is with a heavy heart that I notify you of Don Arnetts passing last night. As you know, he loved the camping club, the "Moose" and his friends and family. He thought of the members as family and he was always promoting the "Moose" and its values. He joined the club in the beginning and was a member the entire 52 years. He held almost all of the offices over his lifetime and with his time at the Downey Lodge 663. He was proud to be a "Pilgrim" brother, Past Governor of our Lodge and friend to so many. He leaves a legacy that cannot be matched. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Margaret Arnett and their family. Margaret was always by his side and helped him with his "Moose" endeavors. We send our love to her for taking care of him while he dealt with health issues. May you rest in peace my friend...

It is with a heavy heart that I let you know of the passing of Helen Hungate. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, especially her husband, Ray Hungate. They were members of the DMCC for many, many years and I can remember bringing our daughter, Lori Kindberg to a campout when she was 6 months old. We had many great times with the Hungates over the years. Rest in Peace my beautiful friend...
