Let’s Make a Change II is an organization that values the importance of education and success to teens in the community to encourage college attendance upon graduation and career readiness skills. We have a career coach that is in once a week to help our teens understand the importance of professionalism, writing a resume, and mock interviews. In the past, Let’s Make a Change II has partnered up w
ith local companies such as fast food restaurants, landscaping companies, retail shops to provide summer jobs to the teens participating in our program. Our yoga, zumba, and weight training classes will be offered to our teens to help them cope with stress from various school activities and work loads. We understand that doing well in school is important and want the teens to understand that positive coping is available. Each class is offered once a week on rotating days so that all teens will have the opportunity to participate. Along with educational supervised activities, we will also host a variety of fun events which will allow teens to express their creative side. Let’s Make a Change II will host open mic nights on the weekends including but not limiting poetry, singing, monologues, the playing of instruments and fashion shows. Let’s Make a Change II self-esteem and mentoring workshops will provide information on preventing teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse, and overall promoting the importance of confidence and self esteem. As you can see the vision from Let’s Make a Change II would allow teens to prosper in ways that they would not have believed to be possible. As witnesses to the severe consequences of this growing epidemic, we feel that this organization will provide teens with the correct values that are required to achieve the American dream. Change starts within one self and also with the guidance of role models. Everyone deserves a chance to achieve their highest potential. With Let’s Make a Change II, we will help teens live out their dreams while being a positive asset to our community.
