Hello to all,

It is with hesitation and remorse I am announcing the dissolving of Durham Softball Association.

It came to my attention last week that a new program has been created looking to draw players from Durham’s program into their own.

Even as a transplant to Durham I have resisted several attempts from other towns to overtake our program and preserve “Durham Softball”.

However it seems now that the attempts I have made to build and retain the program as an individual will not be enough to stay the tide of many who conspire behind closed doors.

I have no intention of creating, or getting involved in a situation that would lead to conflict or hard decisions for those having to choose between programs to support, volunteer for or participate in.

So thank you all so much for almost 15 great years. Thank you to the town, our sponsors, volunteers, coaches and players.

I can not thank you enough. And I send nothing but my best to each and all of you. And I hope to take all these amazing memories and friendships with me.

Join us for Durham Youth Sports Day at the Portland Sea Dogs on June 11th at 6pm as the Sea Dogs take on the Hartford Yard Goats. It's Irish Night and there will be all sorts of music and celebration going on. Before the game, everyone is invited to come down on the field so we can get a league picture in front of the Maine Monster and parade around the field. We will meet in the left-field grandstand at 5pm. After you enter the park, take a left and walk to the end of the stadium and the grandstand section behind the visiting bullpen.

For tickets, there are options for both general admission which is open seating in the 300 level, or reserved seats which are assigned seats and rows in the 200 level.

Please join us for a fun night with the whole league and a great night of Sea Dogs baseball!

This Saturdays game for Durham 8u #1 will be played at Randall field #2. At 381 Randall Rd, Lewiston.

Durham 8u #2 has had a home game added to their schedule on May 17th vs. Lewiston #1.
