VILLENOVA CEMETERY·MONDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2020·
Villenova Cemetery once known as Wright Corners or Balcom Corners Cemetery is an essential, sacred place where the deceased have placed their trust in the attentiveness of the living. The last active cemetery in Villenova, it continues to serve the Villenova and South Dayton community as it has for over 200 years. As members of the nonprofit Villenova Burial Association (VBA), lot owners and their descendants are solely responsible for operating and the continued maintenance of Villenova Cemetery in Chautauqua County, New York. Member participation is very much needed and donations greatly appreciated. Meetings are held at the Villenova Town Hall usually twice a year in April and October. Trustees are elected to serve a 3-year term overseeing the affairs of the cemetery. Four officers are elected annually to run the corporation on a daily basis. The association abides by the VBA’s By-Laws, the VBA’s and the NYS Division of Cemeteries Rules and Regulations. The sexton’s contact information is posted at the front of the cemetery or call Dan DiStasio at 716-374-1782 if you wish to purchase a lot. He also maintains records and maps of the cemetery. Donations can be mailed to the VBA, 8586 Silver Creek Road South Dayton NY 14138.
