14 artists are presenting 43 images! The Central Village Alternative Photography Society is a Westport-based collective of
professional and amateur photographic artists, founded in 2024. United by a shared curiosity and respect for the origins of the medium, we explore a broad spectrum of 19 th and 20 th century
photographic processes, historic equipment, and the evolving synergy between analog and digital techniques as vehicles for personal expression.
Our work is rooted in experimentation—not only in materials and methods, but in the creative vision of each artist. Processes such as cyanotype, salt print, Van D**e brown, and platinum-palladium printing, along with images made using pinhole and traditional film cameras, trace their lineage to the earliest days of photography.
This exhibition represents an ongoing exploration. Much of the work on view is not for sale, reflecting our interest in process, discovery, and artistic growth rather than finished conclusion.
We invite you to engage with these works as part of that journey—and to share in the ingenuity, curiosity, and enduring spirit of the photographic pioneers who continue to inspire us.
