⚾🥎 SCYA Board Elections – October 19 at 7:00 PM 🥎⚾
The Southeastern Community Youth Association will hold its annual Board elections on Monday, October 19 at 7:00 PM at South Charleston Town Hall.
The SCYA Board helps provide baseball and softball opportunities for our youth participants through leadership, organization, fundraising, scheduling, facilities, equipment, communication, and volunteer support.
SCYA is powered entirely by volunteers, and the future of our organization is shaped by the people willing to get involved. If you've ever had an idea for improving our programs, facilities, communication, scheduling, fundraising, or the overall experience for our players and families, serving on the Board is an opportunity to help make those ideas a reality.
We encourage anyone who cares about the future of youth baseball and softball in our community to attend and consider becoming involved.
Positions Up for Election
OFFICERS (2-YEAR TERM)
VICE PRESIDENT- Supports the President, helps track Board projects and responsibilities, follows up on action items, and assists with special projects.
TREASURER- Oversees SCYA finances, budgets, reporting, deposits, reimbursements, financial controls, and required nonprofit filings.
BASEBALL PROJECT DIRECTOR- Oversees SCYA baseball operations, coach recruitment, team formation, player eligibility matters, baseball-related concerns, and baseball program development.
SOFTBALL PROJECT DIRECTOR- Oversees SCYA softball operations, coach recruitment, team formation, player eligibility matters, softball-related concerns, and softball program development.
AT LARGE TRUSTEE POSITIONS (1 year terms)
REGISTRATION/TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR- Manages registration processes, registration systems, roster data, coach compliance documents, and registration-related technology.
SPONSORSHIP / FUNDRAISER DIRECTOR - Builds relationships with sponsors, coordinates fundraising efforts, tracks sponsorship commitments, and helps secure financial support for SCYA programs.
PUBLIC RELATIONS / SPECIAL EVENTS DIRECTOR - Handles communications, social media, website content, community outreach, and coordinates events such as Photo Day, Hit-A-Thon, Opening Day activities, and other special events.
CONCESSIONS DIRECTOR- Oversees concession operations, inventory, volunteers, pricing recommendations, and concession-related logistics.
EQUIPMENT/ PURCHASING DIRECTOR - Coordinates equipment, uniforms, supplies, inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and equipment distribution and return.
VOLUNTEERS DIRECTOR- Recruits and coordinates volunteers, tracks volunteer participation, manages volunteer requirements, and supports volunteer appreciation efforts.
FIELDS / FACILITIES DIRECTOR - Coordinates field maintenance, workdays, facility readiness, supplies, and field-related projects and improvements.
SCHEDULING DIRECTOR - Coordinates practice schedules, game schedules, field usage, rainout communications, make-up games, and scheduling-related logistics.
