Our Lion den of kindergarteners earned their Mountain Lion (hiking) belt loop Monday night at Wheeler Nature Park! We completed a nature scavenger hunt along the way and loved exploring the autumnal twilight!

Our Bear Cubs paired up tonight to practice setting tents all by themselves (including the hardest part — getting it back in the bag!). They were working on the Let’s Camp belt loop in anticipation of our Autumn Adventure campout this coming weekend at Mt. Norris!! 🏕️

Back to school means back to Pack! Our dens have been busy having fun together this past month. Bears played basketball, did yoga, and prepared a healthy snack for their Bear Strong belt loop, and then they hiked in Wheeler Park for their Bear Habitat belt loop. And our newest Lions had their first ever Den meeting last night where they worked on their camping and hiking belt loops!

Pack 678 had a great day on the Burlington bike path together! All ages earned their biking belt loop while learning about bike safety at Oakledge park, and then they headed out for some ice cream together after the ride! Way to go, bikers!

Last Monday, our Bear den of 3rd graders worked hard on earning their Whittling belt loop! They learned about pocket knife safety rules, practiced sharpening their knives, and made two carvings: one out of soap (with a butter knife) and one out of wood with their real knives! They have now earned the right to carry a pocketknife at Scout events for the next year until they renew their knife safety training. So proud of these scouts and their new skills!

Pack 678 is having a Dino-mite time at Cub Scout Day Camp this week at the Expo! This dinosaur-themed week has allowed them to be (and meet) paleontologists, create dinosaurs, watch a Dino Magic show, and visit the Dino exhibit at ECHO. They’ve also been doing all the usual Cub Scout camp fun, including archery, BBs, arts and crafts, water play, cooking over coals, and more! Best week of the summer!

South Burlington scouts (pack 678, troops 611 and 6110) will have a table set up to talk to families! If you know anyone who might be interested in scouts this is a great event to have fun in the community and stop by our table!!
