Thank you to all the South Burlington residents, business owners, professionals, and community partners who joined us this morning for our first SB3C Power Hour: Business Connect Series!

It was a lively and engaging morning filled with new connections, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to strengthening our local business community.

One of the highlights was our discussion around our individual and collective "superpowers"—the unique skills, experiences, and perspectives each of us brings to the table. By recognizing what we do best and leaning into those strengths, we can better support one another and continue building a South Burlington where community, commerce, and culture come together.

A special thank you to SB3C Board President Alex Judge for sharing insights on business growth, development, and the opportunities ahead for our city.

Big shoutout to the South Burlington City Council for approving the Walk & Bike Bridge over I-89 🙌

This East-West Alternative Transportation Crossing is a huge step forward for safer, more connected travel in our community.

Soon, pedestrians, cyclists, skateboarders, and families with strollers will have a dedicated path across Exit 14 - completely separated from highway traffic.
🚧 Construction kicks off this summer
🌉 Bridge + key connections coming in Phase I
🛣️ Full project (including Quarry Hill + Dorset Street connections) builds out through 2028

This isn’t just a bridge - it’s a smarter, safer way to move across South Burlington and connect neighborhoods, shopping, and recreation.

🌟 Sophia is a mother, consultant, and community builder based in South Burlington, Vermont. She leads with heart, creativity, and purpose, serving as Program Lead for VT PoC GROW Relocation and Outreach, Executive Director of the nonprofit SB3C- City Center Collaborative, and Client Account & Marketing Director for Logical Machines.

🌟 From grassroots organizing to strategic leadership, Sophia is passionate about turning ideas into impact through collaboration, storytelling, and community connection.

🌟 When she’s not wrangling her children, you can find her near the water or chasing her next adventure.

🌟 Fun fact: Sophia’s family competes for the annual “First Dip of the Year” in Lake Champlain - the winner earns a golden polar bear trophy and bragging rights. She’s yet to claim the title (but there’s always next year!).
