On 6/14/26 just before midnight an engine from the South Bound Brook Fire Department was requested into Franklin District 3 for a third alarm commercial structure fire which was eventually upgraded to 4 alarms. Squad 55 responded with a driver and 5 firefighters, upon arrival our crew stretched a supply line from Elizabeth Avenue Volunteer Fire Company - Station 26 ladder 26 to a hydrant a block away. Squad 55 pumped the hydrant for roughly 5 hours. Squad 55’s crew after tying into the ladder worked with East Franklin Fire Department ladder 27’s crew and operated an additional blitz fire monitor in the front of the building. While this was happening on scene, members of South Bound Brook also stood by in our firehouse to cover South Bound Brook and Franklin Township. Crews cleared from both the scene and the standby around 6:30am.
