WEATHER UPDATE — Delaware & Raritan Canal parkrun
Hey everyone! 👋
A strong nor’easter is affecting the region this weekend, so here are a few things to keep in mind before heading out this morning:
• Rain is expected this morning, with periods of heavier rain possible around the region.
• A Wind Advisory is in effect for central NJ, including Somerset and Middlesex counties, with north winds around 15–25 mph and gusts up to 45 mph possible. (National Weather Service)
• Conditions along the Canal Trail can change quickly with rain and wind, so please be prepared for wet, muddy or slippery sections, as well as possible leaves or small branches on the trail.
📣 We are planning to run as scheduled, with safety being the priority and a game-time decision if conditions change.
We’ll continue monitoring the course and weather closely. If anything changes, we’ll post an update here and on WhatsApp.
Most importantly, use your own judgment about whether to travel. If the weather or your commute doesn’t feel safe, please don’t feel pressured to come out. There will always be another parkrun! ❤️
Stay safe, stay dry, and hopefully we’ll see you on the Canal! 🌧️🍁☕️🏃♂️🏃♀️
