As we reflect on our Head Start Graduation held on May 22, our hearts are filled with pride, gratitude, and a touch of sadness as we celebrated an incredible group of graduates and wished them well on their next journey. Watching these children learn, grow, and prepare for kindergarten has been a privilege, and they will be greatly missed by their Head Start family.

A special thank you to Pastor Jack Stewart and the Grace Baptist Church for graciously providing the space to celebrate this important milestone and to Juanita Kincy, Head Start Policy Council Chair, for serving as our guest speaker and sharing inspiring words with our graduates, their families and our community.

We are also incredibly grateful to our dedicated Head Start staff for their hard work, patience, and commitment throughout the year. Most importantly, thank you to our parents and families for entrusting us with your children. Your partnership and support helped make this year a success, and we are honored to have been part of your child's early learning journey.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and look forward to seeing the amazing things you will achieve in the future. 🎓❤️

🌟 We're Hiring: Director of People, Culture & Experience 🌟

At Tri-County Community Action Agency, we believe that strong communities begin with strong teams.

We're seeking a dynamic and people-centered leader to serve as our next Director of People, Culture & Experience. This is more than a Human Resources position—it's an opportunity to shape workplace culture, enhance employee engagement, develop future leaders, and create an exceptional employee experience from recruitment through retirement.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about building relationships, fostering accountability, developing talent, and ensuring our employees feel valued, supported, and connected to our mission of eliminating the violence of poverty through advocacy, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.

If you are a strategic thinker who understands that compliance matters, but people matter most, we'd love to hear from you.

We're not looking for someone to manage HR. We're looking for someone to help build a workplace where people thrive.

We are feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside our community partners at Good Samaritan last week. 💙

Receiving such kind words following our visit reminds us why the work we do matters so deeply. It was an honor for the TCCAA Youth and Family Services Team to lend a helping hand, and we are thankful for the warm welcome we received in return.

At the heart of community work is connection, compassion, and showing up for one another when it matters most. Thank you, Polly and the Good Samaritan team, for your heartfelt message and for all that YOU do to serve others each day.

We are proud to continue building stronger communities together through partnership, kindness, and service. ✨

Today on International Day of Families, we are reminded that family extends far beyond our households — it also includes the communities and partners who walk beside our children as they grow, learn, and dream.

Last Friday, our Head Start graduates celebrated their 2026 Senior Skip Day hosted by Gloster Furniture, and what a memorable day it was! Our students were welcomed by local hometown heroes who proudly escorted them to the castle, setting the tone for a day filled with love, encouragement, and celebration.

The graduates received custom stoles, enjoyed a tour of the facility, shared Happy Meals for lunch, and left with a beautiful keepsake gift to remember this special milestone. More importantly, they were surrounded by community members who showed them that they are seen, supported, and valued.

Experiences like this remind us that it truly takes a village to uplift our children. We are deeply grateful to Gloster Furniture and all of our community partners who continue to pour into the lives of our families and help create meaningful moments that our children will never forget.

Congratulations to our Head Start graduates! Your future is bright, and your community is cheering you on every step of the way. 🎓

Healthy families start in the kitchen! 🍎🥘

We are incredibly proud of our Head Start parents who recently participated in a cooking class series led by Maria Traynham with Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Throughout the series, families explored the importance of preparing healthy, home-cooked meals while learning practical cooking skills, nutrition tips, budgeting ideas, and creative ways to make nutritious meals enjoyable for the entire family.

Opportunities like this help strengthen families by encouraging healthier lifestyles, building confidence in the kitchen, and creating meaningful moments around the dinner table. A home-cooked meal is more than food — it’s allowing space for connection, learning, and wellness.

Thank you to everyone who participated and invested in creating healthier futures for their families!

Recently, Women in Energy—an employee resource group within Hitachi Energy
—demonstrated their commitment to community support by donating 50 care bags for mothers receiving services through the Emergency Services Department.

While Mother's Day has passed, the impact and importance of mothers continues to deserve recognition every day. Motherhood often requires tremendous sacrifice, resilience, compassion, and strength as mothers work tirelessly to support and care for their families.

Tri-County Community Action Agency is grateful for community partners who help us uplift and support the mothers we serve throughout the year. We proudly celebrate the dedication and perseverance of mothers in our communities and thank them for the many ways they continue to nurture and strengthen those around them.

Happy Provider Appreciation Day!

Today, we proudly celebrate our amazing childcare providers—the individuals who nurture, teach, and care for our youngest learners each and every day. Your patience, dedication, and passion create safe, supportive environments where children can grow, explore, and thrive.

You are more than caregivers—you are educators, role models, and a vital part of each child’s early development. The impact you make reaches far beyond the classroom and helps build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Thank you for the love, energy, and commitment you pour into the children and families you serve. We appreciate you today and every day! 💙
