Thank you to Springfield Distillery who will be hosting a fund raiser for us this Saturday September 11th.

Without the support of great people like this we couldn’t exist.

Halifax County LATR was formed to fill the special need of our rural community that is heavily populated with large animals.

This is not an easy task. Not only are special tools required but special training is required to ensure the safety of both the animals and the rescuers.

All of this comes at a great cost. Without the support of our sponsors and the community we could not exist.

Please come out and support us this Saturday at Springfield Distillery and next weekend at Cluster Springs Volunteer Fire Department trail ride. You can see photos and videos of our training and previous rescues. Hope to see you to there.

Halifax County LATR rescued two not so large animals today when two cats got stuck inside the clarifier at the South Boston Waste Water Treatment facility. Members went down into the 20’ deep pit loaded the cats into cages and hoisted them safety.

This came shortly after last weeks save of a cat who had fallen into a storm drain.

Both great saves for the LATR team!
