Community members are invited to participate in a Community Walking Visioning Tour hosted by Destination Downtown South Boston on Monday, June 22, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The tour will begin at the South Boston Town Council Chambers, located at 420 Main Street, South Boston, VA.

Join us as we walk through downtown with Place + Main Advisors, LLC to share ideas, discuss opportunities for redevelopment and envision the future of Downtown South Boston! As part of this process, we will be looking at vacant and underutilized properties and discussing their potential.

This is your opportunity to tell us what you love about downtown, what you’d like to see in the future, and how we can continue creating a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving downtown. Your feedback will help identify opportunities for revitalization and long-term economic growth ensuring Downtown South Boston remains a place where residents, businesses, and visitors can thrive!

Get ready for the Annual Touch-A-Truck at the Downtown South Boston Farmers Market on Saturday, June 20th from 8am-1pm! And come hungry too because TC's Bar-B-Que will be serving up some delicious eats and treats!

Kids of ALL ages are welcome (we aren't judging!). Enjoy all of the big trucks, tractors and more while browsing the local vendors and enjoying a delicious treat from TC's Bar-B-Que. Bring the entire family. Kids get a free work hat and they can see, touch, explore and honk!

Thank you to Gloster Furniture for donating these beautiful planters for the Market to Main Alleyway!

These planters are a wonderful addition to this downtown connector, bringing more color, character, and vibrancy to the space. Small improvements like these help make a big difference in the overall look and feel of our downtown.

We had a great time taking a few photos with the Gloster managers and are grateful for their generosity and support in helping enhance and beautify Downtown South Boston!

Destination Downtown South Boston (DDSB) has once again been designated as a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program - a prestigious national recognition highlighting our continued commitment to downtown revitalization, economic development, historic preservation, and community engagement.

Accredited programs are evaluated annually through a rigorous assessment process measuring standards in organization, economic vitality, design, promotion, and community impact. This designation reflects the hard work and collaboration of our board, volunteers, partners, businesses, local government, and community members who continue working together to make Downtown South Boston a vibrant and welcoming destination.

This accreditation also reflects the ongoing work happening in Downtown South Boston through events, beautification projects, business support, farmers market programming, placemaking initiatives, and community partnerships that continue to strengthen our downtown district.
