The purpose of the Community Chorus at South Berwick (CCSB) is to promote choral music; enrich community life in the greater Seacoast area with fine choral music; provide singers of various levels, as well as area musicians, the opportunity to perform and to expand their musical knowledge and experience; and engage the arts community as an active and visible participant.

The Community Chorus at South Berwick is an inclusive, welcoming community where respect, commitment and collaboration create harmony. Our audiences only get to see the results a few times a year, but the feeling of friendship and shared mission shines through at every rehearsal and interaction.

We're on hiatus during the summer, but we'll be highlighting our board and its acitivities, singer happenings, and our upcoming plans. Keep checking in to keep tabs on us!

Say hello to Susan Adams, who joined the Community Chorus at South Berwick in January as our collaborative pianist! ๐ŸŽน๐ŸŽผ

Susan has extensive experience in music education and collaborative piano, working for the music department at UNH for 24 years(!) and at public and private schools in Nevada, Arizona, Maine, and Massachusetts. ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽถ

She also is in her 15th year as pianist for South Church in Portsmouth, NH, works with the choirs at Noble High School, performs as orchestral pianist for UNH wind ensembles, and plays for musicals. โ›ช๏ธ๐Ÿชˆ๐Ÿ•บ

Susan is simply a magician at the keyboard! Come listen to her work her magic at our concerts on April 25 and 26.

Join the Community Chorus at South Berwick for an afternoon of joyful music!

On April 26 and 27, we will present โ€œSongs of Faith, Hope, and Light.โ€ The program is centered around Paul Baslerโ€™s โ€œSongs of Faith,โ€ a joyful, contemporary five-movement work for chorus, piano, French horn, and percussion. Other selected works evoke the power of music and the rising sun. โ›ช๏ธ ๐ŸŽถโ˜€๏ธ

โ€œWe hope that our audiences will leave the performance feeling more joy and light in their world,โ€ says Music Director and Conductor, Dr Amy Kotsonis.

Concerts will be held on Saturday April 25 at 3:00 pm at the First Parish Church, 218 Central Ave, Dover NH and Sunday April 26 at 3:00 pm at the Patricia Baldwin Whipple Arts Center at Berwick Academy, 31 Academy St, South Berwick, ME.
