At the start of 2026, LaSalle Council Scouting America launched the 100 Hearts in 100 Days campaign in South Bend, Indiana.

This new initiative aims to train 100 individuals in CPR and AED use within the first 100 days of the year. The campaign includes 12 training sessions running from January through April, each designed for approximately ten participants.

Open to Scouts, Scouters, and adult volunteers, the program reinforces the importance of preparedness and lifesaving skills. Participants will leave each session with the confidence to respond effectively in a CPR or cardiac emergency situation.

Jason Yoder, Council Program Director, shared the significance of the effort:

“We see this as a really important event for LaSalle Council and for our community as a whole. I have friends and family members who have had to perform CPR or have been impacted by heart attacks, so we know this will make a real difference. Scouting America’s motto is ‘Be Prepared,’ and these trainings help ensure our Scouts, leaders, and volunteers are ready if the need arises.”

The 100 Hearts in 100 Days campaign reflects Scouting America’s commitment to service, preparedness, and making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
