💡PUTTING IDEAS TO ACTION💡

About a month ago, two of our SAVE kids, Sammyra & Angel, had an incredible opportunity to join teens from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northern Indiana Corridor at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Summit for America’s Youth in Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸

This powerful event brought together hundreds of BGC Club youth from across the nation. Sammyra & Angel, along with other area BGC Club Teens, proudly represented our community by presenting on the critical issue of gun violence in South Bend. Their presentation drew from insights gained at our June Gun Violence Youth Symposium, highlighting the voices and experiences of young people in our area.

We are incredibly proud of their leadership and encourage all youth to keep making positive choices, put the guns down, and continue making a difference within their peer groups! 💪✨

📚GOOD MORNING SOUTH BEND📚

On behalf of the SAVE team, we would like to wish all the students in our community a happy & safe first day of the 2024-2025 school year! 🎒✨ We believe in you and hope this will be a year full of growth, learning, and success.

To help you make the most of it, here are a few rules to keep in mind:

Stay Focused: Set clear goals for yourself and keep your eyes on them. Distractions will come, but stay focused on your education.

Respect Others: Treat your teachers, classmates, and school staff with respect. A positive attitude creates a positive learning environment.

Be Responsible: Take charge of your own learning. Complete assignments on time and seek help if you need it.

Stay Safe: Follow school rules and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Look out for each other!

Get Involved: Participate in school activities and clubs. It’s a great way to make friends, learn new things, and build a sense of community.

🎆HAPPY 4TH OF JULY SOUTH BEND🎆

As we gear up for the 4th of July festivities, SAVE wants to wish you a joyous and safe Independence Day! This holiday is a time for celebration, but it’s also important to keep safety at the forefront of our minds, especially with the increase in gatherings and activities.

Safety Tips for a Secure 4th of July:

1. Be Aware:
Stay vigilant in large gatherings.
Report any suspicious behavior to authorities.
2. Firework Safety:
Attend professional firework displays instead of using personal fireworks.
If using fireworks at home, follow all safety instructions and keep them away from children.
3. Prevent Gun Violence:
Keep fi****ms locked away and out of reach.
If you hear gunfire, seek shelter and contact 911 immediately.
4. Celebrate Responsibly:
Don’t drink and drive. Use a designated driver or rideshare service.
Stay with friends or family, especially in crowded areas.
5. Support Each Other:
If you or someone you know needs support, reach out to us. We are here to help.
Look out for your neighbors and offer assistance where needed.

Let’s work together to make this 4th of July a safe and joyful celebration for everyone.
