Hey trail users! Have you heard?

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is developing the first-ever Indiana Active Transportation Plan (IN-ACT) to guide future planning, investment, and coordination for walking, bicycling, and rolling across the state. The plan will identify statewide active transportation needs, opportunities, and strategies to support safe, practical, and connected travel options for Hoosiers and visitors. Active transportation includes walking, bicycling, using mobility devices, and other human-powered or low-speed ways of traveling.

INDOT is seeking input on how Hoosiers experience walking, biking, and other forms of human-powered transportation across the state. We encourage you to help shape IN-ACT and the future of Elkhart County trails, by taking the survey below. Your voice matters when it comes to safer trails!

The IMRV Trail is participating with regional Trail neighbors in an Earth Day Trail clean-up event! Choose a trail on this flyer and scan their Q-code for more information and to RSVP. Drop-in helpers are welcome too!

Volunteers meet at one of the listed Meeting Places. Supplies and refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your own gloves and supplies also.

Many people do this year-round but the annual clean-up still removes a lot of trash on and adjacent to the trails. Mark April 25th from 9:30am to 11:30am on your calendars and join us in beautifying one of our essential green space assets.
