In a rare and wonderful moment, we managed to capture this photo of all four of our incredible Guest Services staff members standing together.

These phenomenal women are the heartbeat of our organization. They show up every single day with skilled expertise, ready to help every guest with dedication and grace. They navigate their work with poise and efficiency from their "stand-up desks" here in our temporary location in the basement of the Cathedral of Saint James.

Thank you for inspiring us every day 💜

They say time flies when you’re chasing little ones, which is our official excuse for posting these photos a month late! We are still swooning over our "Beginning a New Chapter" celebrating several beautiful babies who have recently arrived and a few who are making their grand debuts very soon.

From the stunning photo backdrop made entirely of books to the library-card-themed place cards, every detail was a page-turner. We guessed how many bookworms there were—and yes, that is a fruit tray inspired by Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"—almost too cute to eat!

We were thrilled to welcome Gail and Carvyann from the Robinson Community Learning Center's "Talk with Your Baby" program, who shared insights on early childhood development.

One of our incredible volunteers (who also happens to be a physician!) led an open, honest, and much-needed conversation about maternal mental health during the crucial early months.

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone in our community who donated items. Because of your generosity, we were able to distribute beautiful and essential gifts to our new and expectant moms to help them start their next chapters with confidence.📖🤰👶💜

Construction update!

We're tearing things down to build something amazing. Check out these images of our building project from this week:
1️⃣ First floor dining/kitchen area. Space has been cleared for more bathrooms; the laundry room will be moved to the second floor. The steps to the toiletry closet no longer exist!
2️⃣ The old back staircase looking out to the alley. This space is being opened to make room for a larger dining area and our gorgeous new main entrance stairs.
3️⃣ Looking upwards at that same spot in the old back staircase ... from the first floor all the way up to the third floor!
4️⃣ View of the south side. The one-story "TOD" (Temporary Office of the Diocese) will be demolished soon to make space for our three-story addition and new front entrance. Besides being the TOD, this was the former site of the Advocacy Center.
5️⃣ First floor dining area. The children's area will be in this corner. Our front door (pictured at right) will become our back door.
Stay tuned for more updates on our building project 🏗🚧🔨💜

Today, our very own Annie Maguire, Guest Services Associate, was officially celebrated as part of the Michiana Forty Under 40 Class of 2026! This prestigious honor recognizes young professionals in our region for their incredible leadership and community impact.

Whether Annie is managing case work, providing crisis intervention, or pursuing legal advocacy for immigrant families, her "relentless yet gentle advocacy" transforms the lives of the women and children we serve every single day. She truly embodies the heart of our mission.

Please join us in congratulating Annie on this incredibly well-deserved recognition!

🏁 Start your engines! 🏁 We were honored to join our incredible friends and supporters at Tire Rack for an official Indy 500 "Front Porch" event in April!

We were thrilled to bring our annual drive on the road to share our mission with race fans. While our current building renovation means this is a "detour year" with a much smaller, gentler drive, we still need a few essential pit stops to keep our shelves stocked with brand-new underwear!

If you'd like to help us cruise through this construction season, here is how you can support us:

Shop Online: Grab an item or two from our Amazon Wish List to ship directly to us: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/368V7QBYFEVO1/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex?

In-Person Pit Stop: Drop off donations today from 10am – 2pm at our temporary location inside the Cathedral of Saint James (same address as always, just pull around to the other side of the building!).

Thank you to everyone at Tire Rack for the wonderful fuel, and thank you for riding along with us!

Shoutout to these community champions!

We are incredibly grateful to the St. Joseph County Extension Homemakers for their amazing generosity! They raced to the finish line and collected a staggering 477 items for our annual drive.

Gifts like these ensure that the women and children who visit St. Margaret’s House always have access to brand-new, essential items. Thank you, Homemakers, for your wonderful support and community spirit!

Every Month of May, we look forward to our annual drive. But just like a classic race track, sometimes you hit a little construction! Because of our ongoing building renovation project, this is a bit of a "detour year" for us. Since our temporary space is a little tight, we aren't able to accept a massive pile of donations like a typical year, so we are keeping things at a much gentler pace.

If you'd still like to help keep us stocked with essential, brand-new underwear for our guests, we'd love a small wave of support!

Take a low-speed lap and shop online: Grab a couple of items from our Amazon Wish List and they’ll ship right to us: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/368V7QBYFEVO1/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex?

In-Person Pit Stops: If you're out and about, you can drop donations off this Thursday from 10am – 2pm. Just look for our temporary location at the Cathedral of Saint James (same address as always, just pull around to the other side of the building!)

Thank you for cruising through this construction season with us!

Our guests created these beautiful watercolor Mother’s Day cards!💐💕💐

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we honor all who nurture, encourage, and show love in countless ways. We also hold space for those for whom this day can feel tender — those missing their moms, grieving loved ones, navigating complicated relationships, or carrying quiet heartaches.

Wishing peace, comfort, and moments of connection to everyone this Mother’s Day!💜
