One of the greatest gifts we can give is our willingness to serve and support one another.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a community event where women and children were able to receive clothing and other essential items that had been donated to Mother's Sanctuary. Seeing families leave with not only needed resources but also smiles, hope, and encouragement was a powerful reminder of why community matters.

Moments like these are only possible because of the kindness and generosity of those who choose to give. Every donation—whether it's clothing, baby items, hygiene products, gift cards, or financial support—creates an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

Mother’s Sanctuary is a faith-based community designed to serve as a relational shield against the survival stress of early parenthood here in St. Joseph County. We are not a massive public agency or a temporary drop-in clinic. We are a small, dedicated village walking hand-in-hand with mothers from the final weeks of pregnancy until their baby’s very first birthday celebration.

Our village is anchored by Three Core Pillars of Support, giving you a predictable safety net without the stress of red tape:

✨ Mentoring & Training: Step into a close-knit circle of local moms for monthly small-group workshops to share stories and parenting encouragement. To give you a true space of respite, childcare is always provided in a warm, welcoming, and nourishing environment.

✨ Material Essentials: Receive a reliable, predictable monthly supply of emergency diapers and wipes sourced completely from community donation drives, alongside earned milestone rewards like car seats or strollers as your baby grows.

✨ Resource Connectivity: Gain a dedicated personal guide with professional casework experience to stand with you, listen to your concerns, and help you cut through the paperwork to successfully secure long-term health and nutrition benefits (like Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC).

We keep our active First-Year Circles small—limited to 10 to 12 mothers at a time—to ensure everyone receives deep, personal care and that our space remains calm and loving.

🌿 Exciting Announcement from Mother’s Sanctuary 🌿

Mother’s Sanctuary is proud to announce that we are now an Indiana Application Organization (AO)!

As an AO, Mother’s Sanctuary is authorized to assist individuals and families with completing and submitting applications for vital public assistance programs and community resources. This designation allows us to serve as a trusted connection point between community members and the support systems designed to help them thrive.

This opportunity has the potential to create a major impact within our community by helping improve access to resources, reducing barriers to services, and supporting families in navigating systems that can often feel overwhelming.

Our mission has always been centered around maternal wellness, self-sufficiency, stability, and compassionate support—and becoming an Application Organization strengthens our ability to meet families where they are.

We are excited about the possibilities ahead and would love to partner with local hospitals, clinics, outreach organizations, and community agencies to better serve mothers, women, children, and families throughout South Bend and the surrounding areas.

Together, we can build stronger pathways to support, healing, and hope. 💛
