Big thanks to Purple Porch Food Co-op for hosting us at the July Green Drinks - Purple Porch Co-op! Manager Kristy Robinson and her team treated us to an assortment of delicious food and drinks from the Co-op - nearly all of them locally sourced! We also learned about the various ways they practice sustainability, their membership model, Wednesday markets, and more!

You don’t have to be a member to shop there! Keep them in mind while you’re doing your weekend grocery shopping! Bulk goods, wraps, grain bowls, kombucha on tap, and fresh local produce - cyclospora free! 😀

The City of South Bend - Municipal Government recently launched this year's Energy Assistance and Solar Savings Initiative (EASSI). Click the post below for more info!

The City of South Bend has launched the fifth year of the Energy Assistance and Solar Savings Initiative (EASSI), continuing its effort to assist and support local nonprofits and businesses in completing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The EASSI program is a partnership between the City of South Bend, IFF, and CDFI Friendly South Bend Region and provides both technical and financial assistance to nonprofits and businesses advance in energy-related projects.

Since its launch, EASSI has supported more than 40 organizations, resulting in 15 solar installations and more than 30 energy efficiency projects. Together, these efforts have generated over $3.6 million in combined public and private investment. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, subject to available funding.

Big thank you to South Bend Cubs president Joe Hart for last night’s June Green Drinks - Four Winds Field presentation and tour. We learned all about their $48 million expansion project and sustainability efforts, saw their new event space, had yummy food, and got a behind the scenes tour!

Great to see so many new faces in the crowd, too! Please join us at Purple Porch Food Co-op for the July Green Drinks on the 21st.

Nothing says summer is almost here like Bike to Work Week! Put on your warmest bike clothes and bike to eat pancakes tomorrow morning! Yummy yummy!

Bike to Work Week has officially kicked off! Join us tomorrow for a free pancake breakfast at the John Hunt Plaza (outside the Morris Performing Arts Center) from 7:30-9:00 a.m.

Bike to Work Week is designed to encourage biking, reduce traffic congestion, lower pollution, and improve health.
