Today is World Hunger Day, and the need is growing right here in our communities.
shines a light on food insecurity and the importance of sustainable, community-driven solutions. At Cultivate Food Rescue, we remain committed to rescuing food, reducing waste, and ensuring our neighbors have access to nutritious meals.
Across St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Marshall counties, more than 63,000 people are currently facing food insecurity. According to the 2026 Indiana Kids Count Data Book from the Indiana Youth Institute, food insecurity has increased across all three counties, meaning more children and families are struggling to know where their next meal will come from.
The good news is this: there is enough food. The challenge is access, awareness, and distribution. That’s why the work happening every day at Cultivate Food Rescue matters now more than ever.
Together, we can rescue food, fight hunger, and make sure no neighbor goes hungry.
