I just realized that I forgot to post the link for our final presentation! On August 10 we were pleased to welcome Aaron Helman from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County to accept the final third of our earnings for the local chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. It's official! Profits this year netted $13,150.50, and each of our three charities will be receiving a third of that, $4,383.50 each. Yesterday we presented the first check to Dismas House, and you can watch CeCe's lovely acceptance speech here (skip ahead to 1:10 if you don't want to enjoy the entire St James Day service, which was wonderful as always and featured a Greatest Hits of the 1800s hymn selection).

Next week, August 3, we will be joined by representatives from St. Margaret's House to receive their cut, followed on August 10 by the folks at the Community Foundation of St Joseph County who administer our local chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

We have now sold nearly all of the leftover shortcake stuff, and our total profit for this year is just over $11k, so each of our three recipients will be getting nearly 4k to help fund their excellent missions. Thank you to everyone who supported this year's Shortcakes on the Blacktop!

We do have a few dozen shortcakes (just the biscuity part) and a few dozen jars of jam made from the leftover berries available, some plain strawberry and some strawberry blended with fresh Gooseberries from Unity Gardens Inc. . The shortcakes keep very well in the freezer and are delicious if you chuck them in the oven (do not thaw first) for about 15 minutes at 375.
