was chartered on Dec 3, 1955. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through establishing program in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educate

d women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. Join the South Bend Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for the annual March of Dimes March for Babies Virtual Walk! Your donations will support mothers, babies and families in need and helps to fight the maternal and infant health crisis.

One of our Founders, Edna Brown Coleman, died during childbirth and her baby passed away a few days later. We march for her and other women of color to help decrease the risk of this happening to others.
