The importance of proper pub mix is hard to exaggerate. It is one of those luxuries that never get old. Many lesser pub mixes overemphasize the pretzels. The result is a lack of nuanced texture and taste. Fortunately, due to the generosity of Isabelle, our little tavern has been well stocked for the past few weeks with the perfect mix of ingredients that provides a veritable taste and texture dream. Thank you, Sande!!! ☘️♥️

Thanks to the generosity of ND ‘90 Classmate Stephen Shulkowski (Cavanaugh Hall) we are now the trusted caretaker of these rare commemorative Frank Leahy cocktail glasses from the first ever Boston College vs. Notre Dame football game in 1975! Thank you, Stephen!

After coach at Boston College, Frank Leahy was Notre Dame’s head football coach from 1941 to 1953 (with a break for Navy service in 1944-45), leading the Fighting Irish to four national championships and an incredible .855 winning percentage, still one of the best in college football history. He was a protégé of Knute Rockne.

Fr. Nicholas Monnin who took countless rides in our minivan when he was a kid, was ordained a year ago but spent a final year of formation in Rome. We welcomed him home last night as he prepares to serve the good people of St. Vincent in Elkhart, IN. Love the photo of his mom and him. Please pray for him.

It was nice to host the good people from the University of Notre Dame’s Echo Program to the pub. Really enjoyed the music of Jake Michael. Echo’s mission is “to train the next generation of theologically educated and pastorally creative lay leaders to pass on the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith.” They do a superb job.

We Kloska kids loved all of our uncles, but Uncle Frank was the one I spent the most time with. He was beloved. These stories are true.
