With solemn hearts, we share the official announcement of the homegoing services for our beloved Pastor James E. Sullen, longtime servant of God and faithful elder of the Historic First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Indiana.

We thank God for his life, labor, leadership, and legacy. As a jurisdiction, we stand in prayerful solidarity with the Sullen family, trusting the promise of Scripture: “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)

OFFICIAL TRANSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15

The Historic First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Indiana acknowledges, with solemn reverence, deep sorrow, and grateful remembrance, the earthly transition of Pastor James E. Sullen, Founder and Pastor-Emeritus of Bread of Life Worship Center Church Of God In Christ.

Pastor Sullen was a steadfast shepherd, a dedicated teacher of the Word, and a faithful pioneer. For more than four decades of pastoral and ministerial labor at Bread of Life Worship Center COGIC, he exemplified servant leadership, kingdom devotion, and an unwavering love for God's people.

During this sacred season, we call upon the saints across the state to unite in fervent prayer for First Lady Margaret Sullen, the Sullen family, and the Bread of Life Worship Center congregation.
