We recently became aware of the scheduling overlap with the 100 Black Men Event happening in South Bend, Indiana. It was brought to our attention yesterday, and we are currently making adjustments to the Ripples in the Water Community Awards & Gala.

We have tremendous respect for the work of the 100 Black Men and what their organization means to our community. Our desire has always been to strengthen and celebrate our community, so we want our event to complement their Convention and Gala, not compete with it.

We remain fully committed to honoring all of our previously announced honorees and celebrating the incredible individuals who are making ripples throughout our community.

We are currently working through the details of this pivot and will provide an update as soon as possible so our honorees, partners, supporters, and guests have ample time to adjust their schedules.

In light of the seismic shifts in our national voting landscape over the last few weeks—specifically the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais and the Virginia Supreme Court’s ruling striking down redistricting protections—we are calling an emergency briefing in Indianapolis.

The Agenda
This forum is designed as a strategic response to recent judicial precedents and how it will impact our voting rights, democracy and quality of life. We will connect these high court decisions to the immediate kitchen table issues—such as healthcare, housing, and economic mobility—that are most at risk when Black political power is diluted.
